OUR WORKSHOPS
Tuesday, 21st January
Empowering Social Innovation: Community Voices, Data and AI in Action
6:30 – 8:00 pm • The Longevity Economy – A Call to Action
This workshop will convene a select group of individuals tackling the pressing challenge of shaping an innovative mindset for a shifting demographic reality—one marked by increasing life expectancy and declining fertility rates.
With one in two children born today expected to live to at least 90 years old, the concept of a centenarian life is fast becoming the new normal. In this context, how can we redefine aging and adulthood, where being 50 is merely the midpoint of life?
• We invite participants to explore critical questions:
• What narratives can guide us in this new era of longevity?
• How can we rethink life stages, reshape public policies, and reimagine work, education, pensions, and insurance?
• What innovative business models and sustainable economic systems can harness the potential of longer lifespans and lower birth rates?
If you’re ready to approach these challenges with enthusiasm and creativity, join us for this dynamic and thought-provoking event, part of the Social Innovation House program at Davos 2025.

• Cynthia Hanson, Managing Director, Innovation Foundation

Social Innovation: Addressing the Complex Issues
11:30 – 12:30 pm • Inner Development Goals: A Lever for Social Innovation
This dynamic session will explore how the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) framework can act as a catalyst for social innovation, driving transformative change at both individual and collective levels. Social innovations focus on enhancing society’s capacity to act by equipping individuals and communities with the inner and outer resources needed to sustainably meet human needs. They also work to transform social structures and relationships, fostering more inclusive and equitable systems. Achieving these goals requires shifts in attitudes, behaviors, and perceptions, as well as the inclusion of new actors in the social dynamic, promoting collaboration and shared action.
Rooted in the research underpinning our forthcoming book, to be published by DeGruyter in mid-2025, this session will explore how the IDG framework empowers people to reshape their inner landscapes—thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—ensuring that innovations are human-centered and sustainable. The framework supports the creation of positive ripples throughout society, encouraging the involvement of diverse actors and facilitating purposeful, collaborative action.
As part of IDG Switzerland’s initiatives, this highly interactive workshop will invite participants to share their perspectives, engage in dialogue, and co-create solutions together. Through group activities and reflection, participants will explore how inner development can support social innovation and help foster more inclusive, resilient systems for the future.
